Did my Euro mount today.
Turned out pretty good for time spent.
I skinned it and left it outside in a cage and let the bugs do their thing. After a few weeks I boiled it in water and Dawn dish soap then used a pressure washer to remove reminents. Then a boil with a mixture of peroxide and water at a 40-60 ratio approximate. Thanks!Which method?

No shit huh.The only thing I feed fire ants is poison
Luckily... I do not Not sure if harvester ants will do the same.FireInTheWire,
IF you have FIRE ANT BED nearby, skin the skull, COVER the antlers with heavy-gauge plastic bags/tape, place it nearby for the ants of "clear off" & then "process" the skull as Lonesome dove said.
(Fire ants are VERY efficient at removing flesh & other soft tissue but do NOT damage the skull. - Dermestid beetles work well too.)

Got my mounting plaque finished and on the wall. Looks better now.
Did you use anything to restore the color in the antlers? I have a Euro that I have bleached the skull, but the antlers have faded from the sun while nature did its thing. I've read about using stump remover. I'm considering acrylic paint.Got my mounting plaque finished and on the wall. Looks better now.
