    Watched the Amazon Fallout series.

Not very memorable, but did a good job making a series that sticks to the gameplay fairly well.

Lots of little jokes put in making sure you know and remember things from the game, like NPCs walking by and refusing to interact, the ghoul remarking that there’s always some dumb shit that gets in the way when you are trying to complete a mission, a full on discussion about doing the right thing or doing what benefits the player. You also see different ammo types in use and other call backs.

Some weird stuff that I don’t think fit the games that well, or I never noticed in the games like the main characters causal attitude towards sex. I never played 1 or 2, but in 3, 4, and New Vegas I don’t remember sex being much of a topic at all. Closest being maybe the Lady Killer perk.

The Ghoul was the best character throughout the 8 episodes. And it felt like his role was closer to that of the player in game than even the vault dweller character.

Maximus was a strange character. Written as if he was born last night and a lot of his personality really didn’t seem to make sense for someone that group up in the wasteland. He seems to have some kind of mental disability at times. Maybe his intelligence stat was set to 0 and luck at 10, idk.

The vault dweller wasn’t bad. I didn’t find her to be some over the top, over powered female lead. She grew and adapted as the series went on fairly well.

I thought the Power Armor, Vertibirds, weapons, etc were don’t really well. The yaugui was kind of iffy looking, probably budget constraints and it’s a short scene. For the most part though the wasteland and Fallout worlds looked pretty good.

Overall I think the show could be picked to death for various reasons, but as a fun show that brings the world of fallout in to live action I enjoyed it. I think the lowest points were the flashbacks to before the bombs fell. There’s a payoff for it so it’s not just filler. But those scenes were just less interesting. I wish some of the sex and nudity was cut (there’s not a lot) so it would be better suited to kids who’ve played the game. It really doesn’t add to the story at all. Lots of gore but it’s kind of cartoonish and over the top (it works).

I’d say it’s worth watching if you have Prime Video and enjoy the games. It left things open for a second season that I hope we get.

There's some lore issues that contradict 2 and new vegas, as well as 1 with the location of vault 33

You could be a pornstar in fallout 2, and in 3 and NV you could hire prostitutes. 4 had romanceble companions.

I thought it was kinda lame. I thought the power armor stuff looked cool, but I'd rather be playing fallout. Not watching it.

Almost forgot, they did Sinclair dirty.

I never played the first 2, but AFAIK vault 33 was nothing more than a vault that should exist somewhere with no background or location before the show gave it one. How is the location a problem?

I’ve seen the lore issues. Personally, I think they are pretty minor.

Forgot about the prostitutes and romance options. But IIRC neither really lead to anything. It didn’t take the GTA or Cyberpunk route.

In fallout 1 the master needs vault dwellers to create nightkins. He would've taken vault 31, 32, and 33.

IIRC, there’s no lore stating that those vaults were compromised. The master wasn’t able to actually break in to vaults unless they were already open or had some other access.

Been a while since I looked in to any of that though. Just don’t remember anything saying that he had managed to access every vault, only that he sent supermutants to collect test subjects and eventually found vault dwellers worked best.

It was a pretty good show, my brother isnt a Fallout player and he enjoyed it a lot. The only big issue I had was with Maximus's character, but as you mentioned above he might have gotten 0 INT 10LUCK, Just like Lucy I feel has 10 Charisma. For the casual sex thing that Lucy's Vault practices I think goes with the Test that is being conducted there. They want to breed the best Middle Managers for Vault-Tec.

Honestly, after thinking about it it kind of makes sense. Put 200 people or less in a vault for 200 years and everyone is gonna be cousins before long. And then they made a big deal out of breeding.

I guess it makes sense, just caught me off guard. Didn’t expect it to be such a talking point.

He played an interesting character in the tv series "Prison Break".

ETA: Nevermind, got him confused with someone else.
