We got our first, colored TV when I was in the 6th-grade. It was a big deal and it was delivered on a school day. I could not wait to get home - a big Curtis Mathis console that was half the size of the sofa!
Dad took the innards out of the old B&W TV and the younger kids crawled inside and acted like they were there Five O'Clock News anchors!

I watch Adam 12 today because, it's a look at the LA I grew up in. Graduated High School in 1973. our Police Science teacher said Adam 12 was great because Reed and Malloy got in an entire careers worth of situations every 30 minutes

    Benny Hill!
Saw it the first time the night I graduated from high school. We went out to eat as a family after graduation and came home and it was on TV about 11 pm.
Mom had gone to bed and dad and I sat there laughing our arses off at the sexual innuendo.

The “Rat Patrol” was a favorite. My high school film teacher kept saying it was the WORST show ever on TV. The shadows of the cameraman were in every shot.
Now Irwin Allen shows, I am on board!!

    Remember the movie, "Hallelujah Trail"?
I'm gonna see if I can find it. I recall watching that with my grandparents on network tv - commercials and all.
