    Not new.

I recall an article a while back where someone at some alphabet soup even bragged that they were developing software that could use the accelerometers in your phone to create an accurate layout of your home's interior.

I think there is actually an app for this now where you can remotely access the camera and microphone on different cellphones on your account.

Sent from a creepy ass cracka.

    Helotes!
First, your phone company can do this easily.

Secondly, anyone who can get to your phone can download software that would allow them to do the same.

Lastly, the FBI doesn't use such techniques. It is strictly regulated and has oversight.

    Some people will believe anything...

It's not (just) the FBI I'm worried about.

Is there an 800 number to call if you are having trouble with your phone? I need to ask the FBI about how to change my ringtone.

I thought it was odd that for about two months, whenever I go to the gym, my phone would open up the record app or would start calling random people on my contact list. stopped going to the gym for two weeks, and the thing has been working fine ever since. kinda odd.

Even more disturbing to me is how the new Motorola (owned by Google) X phone will start building a voice profile of their users in the cloud. Not just on the phone, but accessible outside the phone to Google. The technology is there and in use to track you by your voice. Forget privacy. Of course, many on here that preach the company line will say, "If you ain't doing anything wrong, you don't have anything to worry about." Yeah right...............
