I have the old pd20. Back when they were made with the twist instead of the back button. I have another model floating around in a couple of packs. I have been real impressed with build quality and ruggedness. That little 20 has taken a beating for many years with no issue. I wish They still made it with a twist on function as it was considerably shorter than the current one.
i don't recall hearing any complaints from people who actually use them.
I have 2 x TK41's and they are totally badass. Easily the best flashlight I have ever owned. I just gave away my maglites after I used one for an hour.
I have 8 Fenix lights, bought another half dozen or so for gifts... Love them a lot. I'd have to look, but I think I own 2 Fenix PD32s. I like them. For pocket carry, I prefer the PD20. What are you using it for?
I currently use a Fenix TK10 for the handheld light for around the house, and sometimes I carry it with me if I'm going out at night. Great light, bright for what it is, good price, good build quality. It's no Surefire, but they are high quality for the price.
I don't have either of the lights you're asking about, but I probably have half a dozen Fenix lights around the house. They are truly stellar, and I think they make a product that is as good as any other on the market. If you buy it from REI in Austin, you can always return the same if it turns out it's not for you.
