This week I went and finally pulled the trigger and got a Ruger 10/22 carbine model. I have always wanted a 22 rifle but just never bought one. When my son is old enough it will be his first weapon.

    Nice. Pic?

I've always wanted a Ruger 10/22 but since I already have a couple .22 rifles I haven't "allowed" myself to get one.

Ones of these days I'm going to get an offer I can't pass up. Lol.

Advice - Take it Back, immediately! It will infect you with a virus to accessorize, modify, and supplement. It never ends, trust me.

Apparently til now, it was just you & I who didn't own a 10-22. Thanks a lot.

I have owned several 10/22's over the years. Everyone of them shot great. I still have my first one and will until I die. Love these rifles! Congrats!

The unfortunate thing with the 10/22 is you have just as many options of modifying it as you do with a AR. I got carried away and have 3 of them aaaaaand none of them have the original barrels, bolts, stocks, and triggers. Really the only thing left from them all is the receivers. My bank account and wife aren't to happy

Well, you at least have to do the auto bolt release - that's a given.

Agreed. Best/cheapest upgrade there is: 10 minutes with a file and a little reassembly time but makes it so much easier to use.

Second upgrade should be a rubber bolt buffer to replace the hard steel one (cost is less than $10 and installs in less than five minutes).
