I've been reloading about three years and absolutely love it. I've used several types of gunpowder, and the one I like the best has proven to be hard to find. I've only managed to find a pound of it here and there, but never in a larger quantity. Imagine my delight when I attended the Saxet gun show here in San Antone last weekend when I snagged an 8-lb canister of Winchester 231. Great stuff!

That's a great choice that you've made, Robin. I've worked up satisfactory loads with 231 for .380, 9mm, .38 Special, .40, and .45 ACP using various bullets in each of those calibers. Win 231 works very well for me and I'm really glad that a reloading friend introduced me to 231 a while back. (You likely already know that Hodgdon's HP-38 is the same powder.)

    Happy reloading! Happy shooting!

Great stuff. I've done away with the others and use the Win. 231 explicitly for .38 spl, .44 spl and .45 auto. Great powder.

Wish I had known, I loaded up last year before the election (08) with 6 cans. Since it's so hard to find, could have given you a SPECIAL deal on one...........LOL
