Anyone in the Houston area know where i can get the foam for my Pelican 1750 case cut for my M24. I would prefer the East side of Houston but anywhere that is well priced and does good work would be appreciated.

An electric carving knife, like for a turkey works perfectly. The type with the side by side blades that slide back and forth. It is easier than a hot wire.

I used my Dad's electric knife on my rifle case. Traced the outline of the two guns, took the foam out and placed it on a piece of cardboard.
I cut inside the lines to make sure the fit was snug. It is not pretty enough to hung on the wall, but fits the gun very well.

I "trace" then use a utility knife or 'electric knife' to cut inside the lines... Then, crank up the shop vac and use a Dremel with a square cutter. Takes a bit, but you get a nice effect.

If you "line" the cutout inside with a "felt" sheet from a fabric store, you can tuck it into the perimeter of the case for a more "clean" look.. it also "tightens" up the hold on the weapon and makes "deploy" a one hand action.

And this link was given as a source for the foam. Looks like really good prices, especially if you order enough for free shipping. I've actually picked up a couple of 'non'-gun cases that were on serious clearance and re-used the foam from those. I keep changing my handgun assortment, so I should 'reconfigure' a new insert for the ones I carry most.
