I think it's a necessary evil. I'm on a few other forums where they have instituted a minimum post count to access classifieds after people were joining and scamming other forum members.

Atleast with a minimum post count, it helps weed some of those people out. Also, you can do a little research on their posts and get a better read on the seller. Kind of like checking seller feedback on ebay.

Ideally, there wouldn't be any restriction, but with people nowadays, you can't be too careful.

I look at it fairly regularly. Sure there is a bunch of stupid listings, but it's easy to scroll past them.

This is primarily a discussion forum with a sub forum for classifieds.

People just passing through for the sake of unloading a firearm is not what grows this community.
