Something cool arrived yesterday.
Finally got to open the box and fire a few rounds.
The cigar wrapper is a nice touch. You can see the IR Hunter MKIII 60mm in the background. Yes, that's the Thanksgiving day sight on the .22 upper.
So far. I shot it a few times with gemtech subsonic ammo. It does not seem to have any noticeable first round pop.
Yes, its quiet. But y'all already knew that.
I've not been able to test for point of impact shift.
One thing that was very interesting yesterday was the fact that when I shot into a log across the pond, I could actually see the projectiles stuck in the log with the 60 millimeter IR Hunter Mark 3.

Problem. It's a cold day. You don't have a propane torch. How do you heat the metal Target so it stands out against the trees and background brush in 200 yards? A little spray paint and a lighter does the trick

Friday Gun Porn: Met some friends at the Bayou Rifles Addicks Range for syne much needed lead therapy. The forecast called for lots of rain, wind and dropping temperatures. Being Houston, we got all three. It was brutal cold. I think it went into the 50s.
I brought the Taccom 3g .22 upper and the Nordic Components. 22 upper with the IR Hunter MKIII 60mm on it put some rounds through the Dead Air Mask HD through its paces. I also brought the Glock 17 with an Advantage Arms .22 kit to see how the Mask sounded. The Mask HD had no perceptible FRP.
That's not to say that the other cans didn't sound his. The Element 2 and the Spectre 2 that we shot today sounded great. The Mask HD is just the latest generation of. 22 cans.
