I picked up a snubbie for front pocket and I’m curious, how do you carry this little guy?
    What holster do you use?
Does it have to be holstered?

Barami Hip Grip Concealed Pistol Revolver

I have one on my 640. Works great. It's the 2nd one I've owned (the other was on another Smith long forgotten). Hang it in your pocket or IWB. The flare out for the "hook" pulls my trigger finger out just enough that I get the perfect place on my finger for shooting. And, if you get a holster, the hip grip doesn't interfere.

Edit: The gun virutally disappears with only about 2" of grip showing over your pocket or above your waistband.

Doesn't seem concealed. I bet you get more than few unwanted looks.
Anyway, mine has Crimson Trace grips so that isn't an option.

Either way, pocket or waistband, you got to have a shirt tail covering it. But it does very well about 4:00 with a well bloused tucked shirt. Can't blame you for the Crimson Trace grips. I've got Crimson Trace grips on my Colt Defender and I love 'em! I wouldn't take them off for anything else!

My Dailey carry is an SP101 so I holster that bad boy. I had a Smith 642 which I also holstered but would on occasion just slide into my pocket. Galco makes a pocket holster but it is not necessary. Like others said, just the gun in that pocket and you are good to go.

I carry in my right front pants pocket. In winter, I tend to carry larger pistols like the Ruger LCR, S&W M36, Keltec PF9, Ruger LC9. In summer, it's always the little ones like the KelTec P380, Ruger LCP. If I'm really going to get sweaty, I use a fanny pack with one of the above pistols. It keeps the piece and my wallet dry.

Why would the caliber make a difference? Just curious?

If it's ND'd into my leg, none at all !
Seriously, I was searching for help and wondered why he had to holster that gun.
BTW mine is .357 but will probably carry with +P rounds.

I use a Don Hume leather pocket holster for my S&W 642 Pro Series. It breaks up the outline of the cylinder and keeps the grip of the gun oriented up.

Use a holster. A good one will keep the gun upright and positioned consistently. With pocket carry, you at least want that safety and consistency.

"Larger" guns like the PF9, LC9 and LCR? lol You guys crack me up. I still have yet to have a problem with my G17.

I'm going to guess its because the Ruger SP101's are not small nor light guns (relatively speaking). According to their website, it weighs between 25 and 28 oz. (loaded????) Now consider an unloaded Glock 19 weighs 21 oz. (I love polymer guns)

I'm a fan of holsters and a bigger fan of IWB carry.

Jus for reference, a 642 is 15 oz,

I get it that holster carry is better than pocket carry but I know how I am. If I must rig up a lot of crap before I go out, I simply won't do it. Today, when I leave the house, I'll pick up the car keys and slide my little buddy in the pocket. When I get back home, I put the keys and the pistol on the table by the door. "Carry small but carry always."

I assume it's in .357 caliber? That's why you holster?

Yes, sir. In .357 it is quite a heavy piece. On the plus side I need only buy one type of amo now.
Most importantly, i holster on the belt because that is most comfortable for me. YMMV.

I use a Desantis Nemisis holster in my pocket. Although I don't think I'll be carrying in my pocket again, I'll just start using my IWB holster..

I carry my S&W 638 airweight in a Galco horsehide front pocket holster.
It breaks up the outline of the revolver, and keeps it upright/ protected.
