Grid will probably be okay. Could be some local issues due to line/equipment failures.

Warm up your house early, then set the thermostat lower from about 7-10 a.m.

This will help reduce load at the most critical time (around 8 a.m.).

Sunday and Monday it was 10-14 degrees. But yesterday it got to 26. It’s 12 but headed back to 26 again.

The current stretch of weather in my neck of the woods is well suited for culling yotes.
I was driving out of my area to head to dfw and in the middle of the field was a coyote trotting. Must have been noonish. I think you are correct

My weather station had previously stored 8.6° as its record low temp during the snowpocalipse of 2021, and was still showing that record on Sunday morning. I checked it again today, and it had changed. Sometime in the last 48 hours we got down to 6.7°F.

    Out here by the lake!
I went for groceries this morning. Like a dumb ass I forgot my gloves so scrapping the ice off the cars windows sucked. I live out by NRG Limestone County Power Plant & it sure was producing lots of steam. If y'all never been around it the plants mines its own lignite for fuel. Not sure how many of the gigantic electric drag lines they have & operate but two have gotten closer to my whereabouts. They have a vey impressive quarry & driving around the country side there is plenty of places that they have strip mined & their reclamation of the land. A road trip if you have young boys will have them awestruck.
