Back in the day when I was active in competition I have fired 24 rounds in 25 sec using turning targets and a box stock S&W Model 64. Pie plate sized group at 15 yds. After my practice (their lunch) was over a rookie class was brought back to the range. Some loudmouth rookie was complaining (loudly) about how there was no way to fire 12 rounds in 25 seconds (part of the qualifying course) accurately. The head instructor asked me to load all my speed loaders(4), the pistol, and fire as many rounds as I could at the B27 target in 25 seconds using the rookies pistol, starting from the holster. When the targets edged back he handed the rookie his pistol and asked the entire class, "Any Questions". Could have heard a pin drop. Could I do it today, nope. Those were fun times. Practice almost every day.
