I am not a medic - I just play one on tv, but I still remember first aid training from junior college and the Army. I think they have gone completely backwards in their procedure of treating a wound.

Correct me if I am wrong but:
Cover or wrap the wound field dressing;
Direct pressure;
Indirect pressure;
Then Tourniquet if still needed.
