Had thought about adding a comment to that effect (& now, guess I am). Went with a friend to a family acquaintance of his. They had chickens in their yard - they all had names. They talked about especially the one chicken (Jake, by name) that would chase ya around. Later in the afternoon, topic of the evening meal came up. Turns out, the main course was to be chicken.... Jake (by name).

We've still got Boris, Billy White Shoes, Bob Jr (named after his mother - Bob), & Leroy. But Buddy, Stripe, & Charlie have been "gotten rid of" as well as hens Grandma & Gizmo.
