This made me curious and Google told me that 16 fluid ounces of water at sea level weighs a pound. I never put that together so, between that and finding out that EGW sells parts for Para Ordnance double-stacms, TGT has been an enlightening experience.

I remember learning that saying in the Boy Scouts in the late 70s for figuring out how much The water you were bringing in your backpack weighed.

I never associated it with the English and beer.
