    This is the same type of side that bit my ankle while I was cutting my rhubarb stalks. That was the first time I ever hear a hiss from a tarantula. My foot went numb for a whole day. Bleh

    I accidentally ran over a young tarantula while pulling my lawnmower out of the garage. I heard a very high pitched sound; it was a scream, and still feel bad about it. They can live 40 years or so.

    So- you probably wouldn't be entertained by my tales of trying to run over them while I was on a CT175 Yamaha on FM 2288 back in the early 70s. So- I won't tell that tale.
