New member here, in McKinney. I am a Viet Nam veteran, former college teacher, now working as a software engineer. I did target shooting as a kid, but have hardly touched a gun since 1970. I do have a Baretta .22 auto at home, but have recently gotten the itch to come back to shooting, and plan to take the CHL this Spring. Right now I'm just lurking and doing research on what guns I want to get. It appears I have plenty of time, as all the concealable guns on the planet seem to be gone. 
I appreciate the attitude that many of you have, regarding the seriousness of CC. It's too bad that more people outside this community don't recognize what a valuable resource they have in a group of stable, reliable, law-abiding people in their midst, carrying weapons. My favorite liquor store understands it, as they are 30.05 posted.
