I'd be interested to see the memo. But take it for what its worth. I know that Obummer was going to do some big gun control announcement soon. This might have something to do with it. A little fire to go with your smoke?

These proposals that were mentioned in the article:

Tax payer funded gun buy back programs

Instead of a three day waiting period for a back ground check. It turns into a indefinite waiting period(That means you will wait forever)

Hand gun Licensing

Gun safe Licenses

Restrictions on Ammunition and magazine capacity

Licenses on shotguns and rifles


These were all proposed by many anti gunners before Obama was breaking into politics. And after court rulings in DC and Chicago it is making it harder for them to get this crap passed. We need to stay vigilant, but this just seems to be fear mongoring to me....just my opinion.

Ugh... sloppy research and methodology. For one thing, you aren't going to find a single antenna with anything close to linear efficiency from 10kHz to 3GHz. You'd need several antennas tuned to different frequencies to cover such a broad spectrum and make separate measurements using each one. I'd also swap the arrangement - if you're trying to emulate a signal from 'space' you'd use a directional antenna to transmit and the omni as a receiver.

They also did not include in the report any data on baseline measurements of either antenna - you should measure return loss/efficiency of each antenna and compensate for that in your measurement data. They also didn't measure (or at least mention) the insertion losses from the cables and connectors across the frequencies tested; cable loss is very significant at higher frequencies.

Finally, if they did this testing on a lab bench then the results are completely invalid; accurate and repeatable RF measurements should be made in a shielded chamber or box to isolate the test arrangement from outside interference. A serious study would require something like this or maybe this.
