There is probably some back story that the "star" of the show does not want you to see about him and his crew. Seriously doubt that someone with that nice of a store would just go off like that without reason, or just over the price of a holster. Wonder if any gun forums in Michigan or the Detroit area have a thread on it.

I think the place is "Target Sports"

They have a Facebook page, maybe some of you social networkers can check out and see if there is an explanation on there.

edited to add, after reading a bunch of reviews of this place, they seem to be a pretty nasty store. Rude to customers, arrogant, and also mentioned a high rental to suicide rate. The owner may be over the edge...........

I think the pawn people took over the store, demanded all sorts of discounts, and then the gun shop owner lost it when pawn man asked for a holster discount.

Wondering if there's anything there that the camera didn't "capture".

+1, funny how quick he was to take the guys gun and empty it, not sure if this was smart considering how the "star" could have reacted to an angry guy grabbing his weapon.

Dont defend the guys actions just because he owns a gun store. My family owns a retail buisness and you have to keep your cool no matter what. He obviously knew who they were and had a pre concieved notion of how things would be or he wouldnt have said what he did. Sorry store owner was wrong period if we ran someone out of our store everytime we were asked for discounts we would have went out of buisiness 25 years ago. And trust me Ive had them ask over and over and over.

I think what some are saying is that this guy may have had producers telling him to do this or let them do that, who knows what they may or may not have been wanting the guy to do for the sake of "good tv". I don't know if he was justified or not but I can't imagine he would have a business if he made a habit of treating customers like he treated this guy. As you said, If he ran someone out of the store every time they asked for a discount or anything else he would have gone out of business. We only get one side of the story in this vid.

Well I agree it could have all been staged but I was always told growing up "let not your good be evil spoken off" bible verse obviously lol My point is why would you stage something that would have people questioning the credibity of your buisness if anything it should make you bite your tongue more and kill the with a smile :)

Like "gun people" need that kind of publicity... very unfortunate.

As most gunshops are 'independent', this guy enforced it... harshly.

I think we have a "good editing" issue here as well...

So, the 'lesson'... don't "approve" release of your image until you have reviewed it... and have a copy.

That was not staged.. The store owner was not acting.. That was pure hostility.. While they have the ability to edit, which I'm sure they did, it really doesn't matter.. It reminds me of what I tell my self with regards to business or sales..Do you wanna be right, or do you wanna be rich? Bite your tong, make the sale, and move on to the next victim, errr I mean customer..

Randman... agreed... you deal with the 'public', you get it all coming in the door. I agree the guy has something deeper going on... One thing for sure, he proved all the 'negative' stuff that's being posted... I would never darken his doorstep again. In fact, there are a couple around here I will never visit again.. even to just aggravate them...

Guys, remember this was aired on TruTV, previously known as CourtTV. While owned by Turner Broadcasting Company, keep in mind that when they started out they were only in the thing for ratings and only covered homicid trials and such. The "Star" is a pawn broker, pure and simple. and please keep in mind his business is getting the bottom dollar for each and every item that walks into his shop.
My point here is that I think this shop owner was being low-balled maybe a little too much on things, although he may have been getting free publicity due to some sort of contract with the show, he still has a business to run, and a profit margin to manage, and employees to pay. Basically, maybe he felt the free publicity wasn't worth all the discounts he was being asked for and just got fed up. Hell, the "Star" to me looks like some back alley stolen jewelry dealer anyways trying to sell a fence. I usually don't try to judge a book by its cover, but since I saw this episode, I have always felt for the shop owner...please dont flame, this is just all my interpretation of the show and I am sure if we could all see the raw footage it would look alot different.

I watch the Pawn Shop thing pretty often...Mr. Gold's Pawn Shop in in Detroit, and we know what Detroit now is ! He has to keep several brawny security guys on board because some of his customers go nuts and start yelling and would become violent unless escorted out the door...His customers have some intelligent people and some absolutely nut cases...Which are the yelling, argumentive, never satisfied types whom are one of America's biggest problems today..Please note that there was no reference to race, creed, color, of ethnicity...
