Over the last three years, I have bought guns at McBride's, Academy, Austin Gun Liquidators, and Red's in Pflugerville, plus two at Sportsman's Finest in Bee Caves. I was really sorry to hear that Robert was no longer doing their gunsmithing. He was really good. No real problems with any of them, except McBride's a couple of years ago. At McBrides, the way is to come in and get to know at least one of the guys behind the counter and and the ladies at checkout. If they see you as a regular in there, then the service is better. I got mad the last time I was in Red's. He had a new guy, older--not John--whose attitude was "buy something now or get out." He may be gone by now. I hope so.

The guy at Cost +10% managed to tick me off, and I never went back. He made a remark that implied that I was stupid. I don't take that from anybody.

Never been to GT's. Never heard of it before this thread. Where is it?

Heritage? I've been in there twice, but not bought anything. The first time, they didn't seem too friendly. The second time, they were alright.

GT Dist. are primarially a law enforcement store. you can go in an purchase as a civilian but they have stuff that is for law enforcement only. here is their website. http://www.gtdist.com/ I have been quite a few times and have love it. I have never bought a gun there but have gotten flashlights and ammo. Ammo was avaliable when it was not on the shelves in other stores.
I bought a sig p232 from Heritage about 8 years ago. I called around and knew they had the gun i wanted at the price i wanted. They had the best price at the time. Even back then I thought they didnt have a large selection of guns. I guess they must do a lot of custom ordering or something like that to stay in business.
