Fellow classmate Matt Templeton shared the same sentiment. “It’s just like any utensil around here. Just like a fork, a spoon. We have guns," he said.
    Kudos to his parents!

Most of the guys in my high school had at least one gun in their truck window. I even have a pic of a kid holding a gun in class. And not one kid ever got shot.

    Those were the days...

We should have gun safety classes taught in school. I think sub 2nd grade they should be taught what they are and that they are to not pick them up. 3rd-5th should be basic firearm safety and safe handling. Middle school/JR High should be basic marksmanship and hunter safety. And High School there should be competitive teams.

Now parents can teach their kids as well of send them to more advanced classes if the kid is ready for something higher than what their school teaches at their age. But i think that if we had a program in place like this we wouldnt have the problems that we do now.

I would fully support that in public schools, I don't see it happening though.

Jesus Christ, really?!? You're not going to check your facts? Oh wait... you're never wrong.

Fwiw, he wasn't off by much. The decision was made in 2007.

I wish schools weren't prohibited at all, then it would be a moot point for both teachers and parents.
