    HAPPY TEXAS INDEPENDANCE DAY !!!!!! Quite arguably one of the top 10 Holidays in the world.

    When I was a kid the schools were closed but the banks stayed open and the mail ran. Now I wonder if they even teach about it any more. Sad.

    Weird about TX holidays. All the time I was in public schools 60 years ago, April 21 was always a school holiday (my dad's birthday). San Jacinto. It is still an official "partial staffing holiday".
