Hey y’all! I’m new here. But not new to firearms. I’m in Southeast Texas born and raised. I came here to look and learn and possibly sell some firearms soon as I reach my quota. So what’s everyone’s go to deer hunting rifle?

    In the woods...
These days it’s a 30/30 due to where I live and hunt.

In the past, it’s been .243, 30-06, and 25-06 when I hunted where 250 yards, coupled with much younger eyes, was a possibility.

I’ve killed more Texas deer with a .243 and 30-06 than anything else.

I’ve just never cared for the .270.

I started out with a .270. And it was just not to my liking. I was so nervous. I got my first deer a full buck with it. I was shaking so bad I wasn’t paying attention and popped myself between the eyes with the scope. I had a big knot for days. Didn’t matter though. I got my buck and I was happy.
