I think next Hicksville we should do a competition for 100 yard rifle with 5 rounds and tightest group. If they had a longer range I would say that but they only have 100 yd

Or use a target similar to the monthly rimfire challenge.

Good groups are tough, the rimfire challenge target is torture.

Could rework the rimfire target to make the X ring .3", 6 or 8 targets per page instead of 12.

I'm thinking this, but modified for .30 cal center fire rifles.

It is not nearly as easy as it seems.

That would be sweet. Is there a way we could do that but at 100 yards for 30 cal bullets? Maybe to start out just do this as a monthly challange and if it gets good attention then apply it to hicksville? I feel for this caliber 25 and 50 would be to easy. although you see how I group so I might be off on that thought

The thing that gets you is that a tight group won't win, the rounds have to be dead center.

So a "tight group" 1/4" low can easily lose. The way the targets are sized the shot has to be perfectly centered in order to count as an X.

I don't know if I can afford the ammo to do this on a monthly basis. I may download and resize some targets tomorrow to see how it works out though.
