    Playing Poker with friends for money in a residence is not illegal. It is legal as long as the house does not have a take.

    Yeah, Mikewood, I'm an attorney and longtime cardplayer. It's not illegal. House will take no cut. And FYI, your cop buddies are definitely invited. I used to play with cops ALL THE TIME. They are fun to play with and typically play the same style. In fact, I used to even see uniformed Dallas police officers at some of the illegal card houses I used to visit when I lived in Dallas. Those places were like mini-casinos.
