Long time cat hater here. lol

You don't own a cat. You merely hold it in captivity.

Now, I'm wondering...is there a way to get a cat to lick my brass cases clean. Maybe I could put some of the larger ones on its paws (458 Socom, 50 Beowulf, etc).

What happens when cat hair gets into dies?
Any hair in dies can result in scratches to the die. I'm too embarrassed to admit to the number of dies I've damaged in my life.

Now, admittedly cat hair is fine and not the worst problem in the world. True die damage, in my experience, has come from being silly enough to decap at the press and get all that gritty primer residue all over things. Get some of that between brass and die and you can get serious scratches to the die with one pass.

But that grit is easy to control. Decap away from the press, dies, and lubricant and you're good to go. Cat hair, though, floats around and sticks to everything, including all those lubed cases waiting to go into the resizing die.

Cats are a lot like dogs, you just have to get the right breed. I had this one for 17 years and he never really bothered anything.

He was mostly a blue eyed Indian Birman, but his daddy was a common gray cat. He didn't get to come into the loading facilities. ;-)

That 550b has seen LOTS of loading. I have 5 big coffee cans of spent primers. Don't know why I save them but I do. Many parts have been replaced at least once by Dillon, most were my fault some just plain wore out. I keep telling myself one of these days I'm gonna box it up and let Dillon do a complete refurb on it
