I'm new to the forum. I haven't touched a gun in 15 years. My sister asked me to go with her to the range so I dug up my 45 auto.

I came back a different man. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed shooting.

At the gun range was was afford money for my Stainless Steal engraved Colt Double Eagle 45.

I bought it new about 19 years ago.

I want a 22 target pistol and a small 380 or 9mm and I was tempted to sell it.

It cost too much to shot my 45.

How much is my Colt Double Eagle worth?

    Thanks,

It depends on who did the engraving. If it was done by Colt, you'll be able to ask more than usual. Depending on who did it, the engraving could add anywhere from $100 to $500, but you would need to be able to document who did it. Also, if you have the original box and paperwork, it would help on the price. The Double Eagle sold for $697 new in 1993. Right now on GunBroker there are a couple in the $500 to $600 range that are not selling, along with a couple in the $1000 range that do not have bids and none on there are engraved.

There are premiums added if the pistol were chambered for 9mm, 10mm or if it has adjustable sights. Also, the first edition guns did not have a decocking lever, but you said it's a .45 so no premium for that. I would guess you're in the $500 to $1000 range, but it would depend on the variables above.

$400 to $500 is what you should expect to get if you want to sell it.They are not popular and we have had one for sale for over two years.Take it to a gunshop you can trust and see if you can trade it.But do not expect that much if you trade it.You will get more money if you can sell it privately.Good luck.

Happens, no worries. There are some deals to be had out there, but that particular ammo is a joke anyway. Blazer brass or WWB is about the cheapest I've seen and ordered in bulk online makes it a good deal around $.40/round I think. I'm too lazy to look it up or do the math.
