    Find buyer, he gives you cash, you give him gun. It isn't that hard. As long as he does not say or do anything to give you reason to believe he is prohibited from owning guns, you have met all legal obligations.

    When you say locally, do you mean within the state of Texas? Things could be different in New Jersey or California. If you live in Texas, see post #2.

    Yep. He hands you cash. You hand him gun. Shaking hands at the time of sale is optional but considered good form. While you can't lawfully sell the a prohibited person the less you know the better you too are. It's still private property and you have the right to sell your property.

    Ask the buyer If they work for the ATF and let there be a serious pause while you stare at them
    That usually weeds them out
