It looks and sounds like a .38 special shell casing with only the primer.
The blood-soaked right foot looks like cherry Cool Aid and the left foot looks like dollar store blood with a Walgreens Halloween costume bullet hole. If it were real, his foot would look like hamburger meat at that distance and the asphalt would have a well-pronounced hole in it.
