It depends on the lodge. Some have safes in the room or available to you.
Yes sir! Hunting lodges are aware of the cost of firearms & securing them. I'm more surprised that leaving the lodge to eat verses the lodge providing meals. Even if its just locked in your room a locked vehicle is less secure.Safes for long guns available?
Wyomingwhat state?
Nice!Wyoming
In the truck with line of sight then.Maybe I didn't emphasize "modest" quite enough.
Or, perhaps "lodge" was too generous of a description.
I don't expect to encounter a gun safe there. Nor a dining hall with supper offered.
I reckon I'll decide once I'm there.

Honestly, I ain't worried. Just kindly wondered what other folks normally do. Like when some drove to the reunion the night before and got a room. Drive through for supper maybe? If you’re going by the diner or your way to/from the land, just leave them locked in the truck; no reason to make a special trip to put them in the motel.
Lock the case, run a cable lock through the seat anchors if you’re really worried.

I usually leave them in the truck out of sight. Been doing this for many years and no issues. Not To say it might happen, but I have traveled from California to Montana and Texas to Montana with 0 issues. I just lock them up in the truck out of sight.Maybe I didn't emphasize "modest" quite enough.

Yes sirDo you leave them in the truck while you sleep?
Texas plates in Wyoming during hunting season is something thieves would cue in on. A truck, a 4X4 truck and a car all send different messages to thieves. Be sure to remove any hunting related items from the truck & watch what bumper sticker you have on it.If they are out of sight with nothing else tempting laying in view, the odds of a break-in are really tiny.
And in the highly unlikely event it happens, you have insurance.
