I’d break a lease if they didn’t fix it right. Done it once. Never regretted it.

Six days and no one smelled anything or saw the flies on the windows.
Call in "The First 48'' they will solve it.

Moving her to a different apartment would be a no-brainer and good customer relations, and the apartment complex should have insurance to cover THEIR loss, which is renovating the damaged floor and apartment below. But I don't see any liability because her stuff got blood on it, unless the lease promised water- and blood-proof floors. Unless the apartment management killed the guy. Article notes she didn't get renter's insurance because she wasn't required to, that decision is on her.

A dead body in an apartment for a few days is a nightmare for the management. Cleanup can get really involved and if it's not done right the first time it'll come back to bite you in the butt.

Agreed. This would require a hazmat cleanup crew. Afterall, human tissue is hazardous to humans. Who wudda thunk it? :D
But seriously, the apartment complex is on the hook for a lot of cash to get this done "professionally" and "by law".

    The smell is pretty bad.

My brother was found dead in his house, July of last year.
It had been a couple days.

It was rough going through the house.
