I went to visit my brother for Easter in Lubbock with my folks and my younger brother.
Anyway, on the drive from San Antonio to Lubbock, I'm am always amazed at the contrast of people. We stopped at Sideoats (a place my parents like in Menard IIRC). They straw hats and large straight blades were common (I like the one that had a snake skin scabbard). They had a special for Fish and Chips, which my dad ordered. The waitress, kindly informed us that it came with Fries, not chips, but we could get chips if we wanted.
We stopped to get gas later. Two young brothers walked in, straw hands, boots, and designer jeans (at least my wife informed me of this last point). They left their truck running as they went in.
Overall, I really enjoy the outgoing, friendly people. I'm not knocking them, I'm just noticed the stark contrast that a few hundred miles makes.
