I don’t own a 1911 but need one for the collection. I’m looking for a factory built PSA 1911. They have been out of stock for a while so perhaps someone has one they’re willing to sell.

    Another vote for Tisas. 100%.

One time...I saw a guy throw one around in the gravel, then run over it with his car....

I'm very happy with this one:

That’s the newer stuff branded for them, they used to produce their own, that’s what I want.

    Check out TISAS.
They have some models that are pretty nice.

Agree with Moonpie. Check out the Tisas line. I have Tisas Duty in .45 and consider it worth the price.

At the price point the Tisas are OK. All steel made in Turkey

    I grew-up on 1911’s.

    All Colts, one Kimber.

    Check out Taurus & Ruger.

This isn’t going to be something I shoot often or carry, just want one to say I have one. Since my uncle won’t give up my granddad’s, I figured I’d get one from one of the most pro 2A companies out there, Palmetto State Armory.

'Sorry about your grandad's. My lovely mother pulled that crap on me and gave dad's away.

    That’s fine and good luck.

But you did ask, dodn’t you ?

Look for one with non-cast internals. Forgings are always stronger.

A 1911 is like a vacuum cleaner, an assembly of parts, all of which are replaceable ./ upgradable !

My first Colt must have gone through 15 barrells.

One other small point; I find it easier to both conceal and shoot a full-size 1911 than a Commander or Officers’ model.

Tisas is good on a budget, but may require work on the simple stuff, extractor and sear tension, weak springs, etc.

I hear you can beat them up pretty well too

    In the woods...
Tisas or RIA. I’ve had both, and own several military issue and commercial Colts.

I shoot the Tisas and RIA versions and they run like a sewing machine.

I actually give the nod to the RIA - just feels better in the hand than the Tisas but the RIA did come with crappy grip panels - which I switched out.
