Oh heck yes. Tex Avery's cartoons were full of sexual innuendos. The guy behind the counter seeing a pretty girl walk in - cash register pops open.
This type of thing really has me confused about today's "world". Seemed perfect sensible and normal growing up when I finally got those references, and even before I fully understood or recognized social norms relating to human sexuality. Now days, it has somehow become offensive to recognize that as human nature much less apply it for comedic effect.

I guess I'm slow, but how does someone not understand that ever since Adam saw Eve, men will fall over themselves looking at a pretty woman?

I think everyone still understands that. What's new is that there are now lots of people who either are or are pretending to be offended by that fact. That strikes me as just weird but it's the case.

Ah you see, here you're just trying to perpetuate the oppressive patriarchy's view of binary heterosexual normativity. What about Adam and Bob? Adam, Eve and Snake? Adam, treegendermoonbeam and Pat-Chris?

Hate to derail a thread that has so steadfastly held to the original content, hee hee, but I heard a lot of racket coming from the National Guard, so I walked down the street to see what it was.

There were a bunch of Hispanics tearing the roof off an auxiliary building. I'm betting most of them illegals.

Something just doesn't seem right about that.

Maybe I should get in my truck and see what flag is on the pole out front.

It always pissed me off that Wiley never caught the Road Runner.

Then I find out as an adult that coyotes are faster than roadrunners. My childhood was a lie.

On the ground, yes but the coyote can't fly. I still like the cartoons. I never felt all of the old ones were trying to teach a lesson, just entertainment. The new crop is all about teaching.

If there's one thing the internets are even saltier about than making fun of their gender bullshit, it's crapping on socialism. Post this pic:

Caption it: East Berlin, 1989. Yay, socialism! National-Socialists decreed a stop to rent increases in 1936, Socialists decided that was a grand idea and kept it that way, and 50 years later, whole city blocks just rotted away in all East German cities. Because upkeep costs money.

And watch the tears roll on. OMG the comments...

I don't know about y'all, but I never considered or would have had the mindset to consider the sexuality of ANY muppet when I was a kid.
Really? I can remember thinking it was weird they slept together. Also how they always talked to each other like an old married couple.

I don't think my kids were old enough to understand what that meant. When they started going to school they thought they were too old to watch Sesame Street.

I wouldn't say I "understood" it, but I knew as a kid normal adult male interactions aren't like that

Also pretty sure this one is a tranny...

I always thought they were siblings, but I'll admit they were some of my least favorite muppets and I didn't watch them too closely. Maybe I missed or was just oblivious to some of the "clues."

Now that one creeped me out as a kid. For some reason I always hated Miss Piggy too lol.

Sesame Street wasn't available in my location when I was a kid. Then I went to Houston to go to college and everyone else seemed to have all these cultural references I didn't understand. But I was a puppeteer as a youth so I got interested. Coming to Sesame Street as an adult meant that my impressions were different than the folks who knew them from an early age.

My initial and continuing impression wasn't that just Bert and Ernie were unusual but that they were all weird in one way or another. I never came to appreciate the show on any level.
