    Yes, story broke last night.

They are doing everything they can to get ObamaCare funded, while trying to look like they are against.

Both supported bailouts, not sure why this surprises anyone.

Hang all them damded lawyers! Time to repeal the 17th Amendment to the United States Constitution, and make Senators accountable to their State Legislatures, not the popular vote of a brain-dead electorate.

I'm actually shocked (but shouldn't be.) I get e-mails from Cornyn every day or so. "You must help me repeal Obamacare blah blah blah." Sorely dissapointed.

Any names floating around out there yet to replace him? Time to start reading up on the possibilities if any info is available.

    From the OP

Senators Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and John Cornyn (R-TX) -- the top two Republican leaders in the U.S. Senate -- announced yesterday that they will support "cloture" on the government funding bill, giving Harry Reid and the Democrats a procedural green light to fund Obamacare with only 50 votes.

The Dems have a majority, so no Repub votes needed.....so they all vote no on the Bill....

Then they come back to their States and proudly proclaim..."I voted against Obamacare"......

If they hadn't, the Senate would have needed 3/5th's of the Senate to pass it, so they would have needed a few Repubs to vote yes.....

If it failed to get 3/5th's? Government shutdown......

As I understand it....if wrong someone please correct.....

Here it is in a nut shell

The house passed a continuing resolution to fund the rest of the government except obamacare.

Ted Cruz spend 21 hours explaining why obamacare sucks and what he plans to do about it.

The senate voted today to debate the bill the house passed.

It passed 100-0 (remember they are debating a bill that defunds obamacare.

Now the bill is open for debate, where it is expected that the democrats will remove the language that defunds obamacare.

At that point cloture is needed to end debate and vote on the bill. This requires 60 votes.

This is where the republican Benedict Arnolds come into play. Cruz is arguing that this is the red line.

Cornyn (minority whip) and McConnell argue that they'd rather vote for cloture, because they are scared a government shutdown will harm the republicans politically (nevermind the harm coming to the American people) they argue that the collapse of obamacare will get hung around retard n chief's neck. Nevermind that fast and furious, the irs, Benghazi, the crappy economy, high unemployment, record food stamps etc has not been hung around his neck after 5 years. They say Cruz's game will distract people from obama's failed policy. And after we maybe win back the senate and make them the majority (and unsaid obama is out of office) then we'll start work on repealing obamacare.

So Cruz argues that the cloture vote is where we will see people's true colors and if it gets cloture (it is going to need multiple republican defectors) these defectors will vote against the actual bill but it will pass. And these theater republicans can go back and say they voted against funding obamacare. When the vote where they could actually stop it was the vote for cloture not the up and down vote to pass or not pass the bill.

Cornyn and about 25 other RINOS just voted for cloture allowing Reid to put ObamaCare funding in the Senate bill and pass it, which they did a few moments ago

Too late now...25 rinos joined the dems to vote in favor of cloture of the bill. Obamacare is fully funded. Who the **** made the Senate rule that you could change the wording of a bill the house passed without having to send it back to the house, goto be one of the most asinine Senate procedures I've ever seen. Anyone know what brilliant congress came up with that one?

Agreed. 17th needs to go. Or better yet, Texas needs to go, and let the other 49 go the way of Detroit.
