So does ours.Who cares, their government sucks.
That's an understatement!Who cares, their government sucks.
That's an understatement!
There's a huge fight right now, with a shrinking leftist population protesting judicial reforms.
What judicial reforms?
Seems their judiciary has been corrupt since 1948, and the 'right' has decided 75 years of judicial tyranny is enough.
My understanding is that lower court judges are appointed by higher court judges, and higher court judges are elected by lower court judges.
An example of judicial tyranny is the Jewish-owned properties in East Jerusalem and elsewhere. These are properties that were Jewish-owned prior to 1948 and the owners were forced out by the Jordanian government in 1948.
Nineteen years later, in 1967, Israel recaptured the historically Jewish areas.
You could think it would be a simple matter to take your ownership documents to court and evict the arab squatters the Jordanians 'gave' the homes to, but the Israeli judiciary typically took over 50 years to complete these evictions - and some cases are still ongoing over 55 years later! That means 2 more generations of arabs have grown up (and more attached) in these homes, while some unfortunate Jewish family is stuck paying taxes on a property they aren't allowed to enter.
The arabs have scored a propaganda victory in this, claiming that Jews are 'stealing' their (stolen) homes!
Another example is Rabbi Kahane's 'Kach' Party, a religious-right party that platformed on 'transfer' of the arabs to arab countries; it should be noted that Israel absorbed millions of Jews from arab and muslim countries since 1948 that generally were only allowed to leave with what they could carry.
Israel's 'Basic Law' - they a democracy, not a republic, and don't have a Constitution - was amended to ban 'racist' parties to keep Kach from being on the ballot; the courts kept Kach off the ballot but allowed arab parties that call or Jews to be murdered to remain on the ballot.
It goes on, and on, and on...

What really screwed th U.S. wasbecomeing dependant on others for our way of life. BRICS just lends a completely different aspect of Biden's actions concerning several other Countries since he has been in office. Obama's as well. None of which bodes well for most of the Countries on this planet.

Bibi *is* American, he grew up in the Philidelphia area and has the accent to prove it; his father was a college professor into his 90s.Eli,
Thank you for these details.
For decades, on meeting Israeli Colleagues at international scientific meetings, I’d hear grumbles that something just « wasn’t right » inside modern Israel.
My late Dad, who tried to help a number of Holocaust Survivors inside late 1944 Germany, often said their attitudes were very different from our American Jewish Friends’.
Is ’’Bibi’’ really the ‘’Good Guy’’ we Americans tend to see him as being ?
