Won't change a damn thing. Crime and killings will continue until they figure out that building more prisons and start aggressively filling them up with long sentences for any thug that use a gun in any crime. If it's a thug killing another thug, "double tap". One is gone forever, the other one is gone for a long, long time.

Also creating more employment opportunities for many, many people and other the services needed to operate these new prison facilities. Win, win I'd say.

Wait, nah, it can't be that simple right?

Nothing makes sense anymore, does it ? I'm drawn back to me being the kid at age 10 and all us kids the same age range in the early 1960s, all parents the same age as well and buying their first home. Judy across the street could out run, hit and throw all us guys. Neighbor down the street owned a used car lot and brought home cool cars for his teen sons to wash in drive way with music playing. Kids all played down the street late at night, the grown ups sat outside in lawn chairs and drank tea and beer. I think was pretty much that way nationwide back then. Then it all changed almost overnight, why ?

Want things to make better sense? First step is to stop calling those people "democrats". They're commies. (Or "commiecrats", if you prefer.) Stop letting them pretend that they belong to a political party that believes in democracy. They support the globalists who want to concentrate all power into the hands of a small, ruling elite. They're not letting millions of people cross our borders because they feel sorry for them; they are bringing them in to form a poor segment of the population that will be forever dependent on the government for their basic needs and will vote to keep the commiecrats in office forever.

And remember this fundamental concept: Private ownership of firearms is not compatible with communism.

About 68-72 was the change I think.

I went to college in 1974. Already by that time there was more indoctrination than education. My father was a 20 year service member, a Green Beret. The small SE Arkansas town I lived in was conservative. But I started to listen to my "educated" professors. God help me, my first presidential vote was for Carter. And I'd be the poster child for a libtard for the next couple of decades.
But eventually, ugly reality chipped away the scales from my eyes. Largely by exposing myself to sites like this and hearing well thought out arguments from what was at that time, the other side. Eventually I could no longer come up with logical arguments for the idiocy. Plus, the idiocy just kept getting worse.
I sometimes have imaginary conversations with my parents when we were station in Germany in the 1960s. I try to describe America of 2024 to them, and they can't believe it. Hell, I'm here and I can barely believe it myself.

    Remember that Ray Nagin ***hole?

    Birds of a feather.
    <>

Yes, and the residual importance of Nagin’s case is the relatively new democrat justice-avoidance trick they perfected with Nagin.

Instead of charging him with his most-serious crimes, they made a big deal public show of charging him only with the least felony, convicting him in a ‘’show trial’’, then let him go to Club Fed @ Seagoville Texas for a few months.

Nagin was never even charged with ANY of his more serious crimes against Citizens, and he is free today.

Later, they used the same trick when the N Y Governor Cuomo was found to have caused the unnecessary premature deaths of some 11,000 N Y seniors by forcing them back into COVID ridden nursing homes. Remember that Cuomo was charged ONLY with a minor trumped-up “sexual advance’’ case, got a wrist-slap, resigned & went home ?

The, and their leader Schumer, are extremely devious criminals.

    Do not forget this !

We have gone to visit New Orleans many times as I like to play the Poker Tournaments at Harrahs.

We stay at fancy Hotels in the French Quarter as ms gamboolgal walks and shops while I play cards. We eat out alot and we do spend a good bit of monies there.

But we have noticed a marked increase in Bums & Pan Handlers the last few years.

If they pass this proposal to outlaw CCW we will not return.

I wrote the Mayor this evening to express our concerns and it will be interesting to see what, if any reply I get.

I seem to recall another idiot politician wanting gun free zones, and its worked out smashingly there too...

So smashingly that a security company made news for ditching a $200k / year contract for armed security patrols at a mall because of violence, open drug use, persistent criminal trespass issues, and the police not doing jack shit about any of it when called.

Seems to be anywhere democrats gain power turns to shit faster than corn in a cow.

How's that tourism going to work out when Nawlins turns back into a crime infested shithole like it was in the 80's / 90's? Back in 2000 - 2001 I was but a young college student pursuing a criminal justice degree. We had a week's worth of lessons built around New Orleans and New Orleans PD corruption, and I remember vividly reading about the tourist associations and travel agents warning people about visiting New Orleans, even warning them against having any contact with the NOPD because it was so bad the criminals wore badges. I wonder if this chick managed to squeak through when they allegedly cleaned house?

The City is & has been run by the Landrieu Crime Family, now headed by “Mitch” AKA ‘’White Rat’’ Lanfdrieu. The Mayors are pawns. Mitch tries to out-do Schumer & Obama in hopes of becoming President.

To my knowledge, there have been two mass shootings of tourists in the FQ in recent years, one with some 20 victims, the other over 30.

it is hopeless. For the most recent big shooting incident, there was only ONE NOPD officer in the entire 320 ac FQ district on a weekend night. As one uninjured survivor told me: “I had my gun, but all I could tell was that people around me were being downed by gunfire. I couldn’t tell where the fire was originating, and didn’t even draw.’’

If you insist on going, I suggest arriving b/t daylight & Noon and staying at the Hilton, in the area protected by Casino Security, whioch is more effective than NOPD.

I have to go occasionally and won’t enter the FQ after mid-afternoon, am out b/f dark, & keep a hand ON gun much of the time. Please notice that many FQ residents keep a hand in jacket while walking; it is on a J-frame. A 6’3” ex-Special Forces Buddy takes a cab rather than walk 2 or more blocks, while carrying his .45 Sig.

The guy who ran the “NO Crime Report’’ has died, so the crime stats are suppressed to protect tourism, not tourists.

Let me further advise: The folks who live here stay around Lafayette, Houma, or Thibodaux and visit the Indian Casino at Charenton, just off US 90. Costs less, much less dangerous, better food. Check “Mr. Lester’s Steakhouse’’, a locals favorite. Do not decoy into those nearer Texas.
