The Walker is now the "Official Pistol" of Texas.

"RESOLVED, That the 87th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby recognize the original 1847 Colt Walker pistol as the official handgun of the State of Texas."

Cool. The 1847 Colt Walker and their modern black powder replicas are not regulated as "firearms" under federal law, right?

The purchase of the Colt Walkers saved Colt from bankruptcy. To thank Texas, he engraved a sketch of the Texas Navy victory at the Battle of Campeche on the cylinders of his 1851 revolver. The Pietta replicas also have this engraving.
