    Did you see that porker was going to weigh 3,249lbs? The Beat is 1,675lbs :laughing:
    Ratio of 100hp to 1,000 pounds of car. I’ll take it.:)
    Guys at service center tell me there is plenty of room to tune as well. Could get it to 500hp but I don’t know how the engine would take it.

    I'm laughing, maybe crying, at your puny weights while slogging around my 4400lb 485hp tank.

    3k lbs is unfortunately considered light these days.

    There are a few lighter new cars that you’d actually want to drive, but there ain’t many.

    Still rocking my 2011 Scion tC: 3,160 lbs curb weight, 180hp, 2.5 liter, 27mpg, room for me and one other person, and behind the seats its basically a pickup with a lid.

    We can only dream of the days cars were reasonable weight. Just look at the economy and performance putting modern powertrains in old school lightweight cars.

    What's kinda weird to think is even cars we perceived as "tanks" like a 1978 Malibu were barely 3000 lbs. with their iron small block v8's. LS swapped they're like 2800 lbs.

    Why has no one mentioned this miracle electric truck? At only 9100lbs it is barely worth a mention. What the new green deal brings to the table.

    I like the Kei trucks. They are all over the Caribbean. That’s Hondas Acty.

    That's kind of the gag isn't it? The auto manufacturers could get the weight down, but so few even try. The ones who try, don't seem to be trying very hard.

    I thought it kind of funny GM went on this big rant about finding every extra pound a few years back. Sure, they got the 6th gen Camaro down 175 lbs from the 5th, but we're still talking going from 3860 to 3685. My 4th Gen Firebird Formula weighed in at 3470 at the track and that's after I added weight (subframe connectors, shock tower brace, etc.)

    Mazda is subject to all the same nanny state regulations as everyone else and they can still make a 2400lb car ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Size = weight
    Size, or lack thereof, matters.

    The market for tiny little sports cars is extremely small.
