You can measure the chamber length by yourself.
Cut a 3” strip of stiff cardboard or an old credit card to the width of the chamber opening. Slid the strip in slowly until you feel resistance. Mark the strip, remove and measure.
The resistance is the beginning of the forcing cone.
2 1/2” shot shotgun shells can be had at RST. Sadly curre out of stock.
You can even choose 2” low pressure shells designed for Damascus barrels.
I use to cut down factory shells, reduce the payload and roll crimp closed.
Lastly, be aware that the shotgun shell length refers to the fired length.

If in doubt shoot 1 3/4 shorty 12ga shells, the pressure is low and they will eject fine.
12ga or any gauge black powder shells are very easy too make yourself.
Start with a modern hull, cut down to 2 1/2", load black powder or pyrodex, insert a cardboard disc then the shot. Cover that with another cardboard disc and seal with hot glue.
The discs and load data are available online, Dixie gun should have it all
