I'll play devils advocate. Prostitution is a victimless crime, robbery however is not. Some how we seem to forget this fact when we places a stigma on what is socially deemed immoral behavior. Two consenting adults engaging in a mutual act does not create a victim, unless perhaps the IRS is the victim who didn't get to collect sales tax. Otherwise there is one robbery victim in this case, and a thief who happened to be a prostitute on occasion as well.

    Victimless crime? No.

Do some research on the social, familial, and psychological impact of prostitution. The disease and crime that goes along with it...

I can have a discussion regarding whether it should be legal, but victimless it is not.

Cheating is it's own issue. Money does not have to be involved. A man willing to stray doesn't require women who charge. there are plenty who will do it for free. Lets not blame the hooker for the mans infidelity, women cheat too.

Just going from what I've heard ... No service, therefore it's theft. Also, since no service was given, then there was no prostitution, therefore nothing illegal.

Never mind that Perkins—who was labeled as Frago’s pimp by the defense—testified in court that his escorts never promise sex. “If I found out you were having sex, you were fired. Period. End of discussion,” he said.

    Suuuuuuure....

It’s the result of one of those beyond-comprehension Texas laws that makes my home a global symbol for lunacy.

So fucking move already. Oh, wait- moving would stop him from being able to bitch about liberal bullshit. Can't have that.

Generally the smart ones only offer time and companionship for their charge. Since offering, or discussing sex for money is a crime, most avoid that conversation. What happens between consenting adults after the transaction is made, and no promise is given, is not illegal. From my stand point, the john expected sex, she did exactly what she was contracted for and did not want to do any more. You first have to understand that culture and how the game works before you can make assumptions about many of the things that happen. Do some research, there are a few good forums dedicated to this.

Looking at it from a different angle, money makes it business and that will generally keep it uncomplicated when compared to cheating with someone down the block. A hooker won't catch any feelings and get out when it's done.

Personally, I have no problem with prostitution in theory, but in practice, prostitutes are generally not good people to spend any amount of time around if you treasure your property or your life. It's a roll of the dice at best.
