A constable came in at work yesterday to shop around. I was standing by the door when I saw something shiny on his hip from 20 yards out, a highly polished 1911 with ivory grips. The polish looked like nickel, but he said it was high polish stainless. He said it was a series 80, we talked about 1911's for a minute or two. That was one hell of a gun, didn't look like your every day LE side arm.

My Kimber Stainless II, engraved with "Operation Enduring Freedom 2010-2011", map of Afghanistan with the 1st Marine Division logo, EGA and my rank and name on the slide. EGA on the grips and even custom serial number, I'm working on getting an awesome custom leather holster for it, has performed flawlessly for me.

Thanks it was a group buy on deployment, somebody came up with the idea and approached Kimber (apparently they do deployment commemorative pistols often) once we had enough commit and pay it got put into motion. Picked it up shortly after we got back, thing that sucks is I was stationed in CA at the time so I got to fondle it, fill out the 4473, then had to come back 10 days later to pick it up. Was about $1200 with the display case which is pretty much what a standard Kimber runs without all the engraving and stuff.

That reflects VERY well on Kimber as a company

It's been a while since I've shown this chrome plated 1955 Highway Patrolman with gold plate and real MOP grips (that it doesn't have on now).
