I needed more space for my man cave so I built a new loading bench. Top is 2x6's dowelled and glued together with 4x4 legs and 2x4 frame. 8' long, 30" wide and 36" tall. And as usual I over built the darn thing, it weighs about 80 lbs, but I can rebuild a V8 on it if need be.

    Cheers,

    George

dang thats nice. I am just starting mine and I now feel inadequate :) I am limited on space and lazy so i bought a workbench kit made by 2x4 Basics that makes it easy to build any size you want....I really like yours, maybe I'll build a nicer one one of these days when I have more space...

Nice job! That's some nice woodworking!

My place is very small so my reloading bench folds up to put it away. I mounted each piece of reloading equipment on a plywood base with standardized holes in each base matching holes drilled in the table. When I want to use something, I mount it on the table with two long screws and wing nuts then put it away in a cabinet later.

I sure wish I had the room for a nice bench like that!

Wow! That's really similar to the one I just built, just that mine's not so pretty. We used plywood for the deck, backsplash and bottom shelf, so those got painted with floor and deck paint.

    Excellent-looking work!

I built a bench about that size some years ago. I have about 2 sq. ft of it to use, the rest seems to accumulate stuff that needs a resting place.

I'll be putting a Dillion SL900, XL650, Mec 650, Rock Chucker and a Hornaday powder measure on the bench. It really was pretty easy to build, only took about 3 or 4 30 packers. I had several old cans of stain on the shelf so that's why it's multi-colored and I had/scrounged a lot of the wood so it didn't cost much to build. It won't be long before it's covered up with stuff.

    Thanks for the comments,

    George

If anyone is interested, I build custom furniture including reloading benches. I can work with almost any budget. Currently, I have 5 designs I offer from small to large, folding and stationary. However, I also build from customer provided designs if preferred. I am located just west of Austin. Drop me a PM if interested. Thanks.
