The sad part is, I literally live less than 2 miles from Cabelas. I reload 308 and 5.56, Cabelas has everything I want. The catch is they sell for $6-10 higher than everyone out there and I also have to pay tax.
Would someone recommend an online retailer where I can get bullets shipped to me cheaper than crossing the highway to Cabelas and paying the premium plus tax just for convenience?

    Gun shows are your friend.
Last show here in San Antonio, a guy had 1000 Winchester .310, 124 grain soft points for $125.
These typically go for $35 per 100.
And I handed him cash, so he didn't ask for tax.

Any internet sale now carries sales tax, no matter where you live.

Well neighbor (I live in Mustang Ridge) have you checked out Sages Reloading supply or Redeye Reloading online? Sometimes they are cheaper even with the shipping.
The is also Ferris Firearms/ Cedar Ridge gun range in Bulverde that carries bullets, powder and primers. Also Trainer Hale in Marion that carries powders and shotgun supplies. You might even call Fehner firearms in Gonzales, great gun store worth the drive.

Yes, the ‘’tax man’’ always finds a way.

    Bureaucrats are the new dictators.

How dare you try to keep any of your own hard-earned money ?

At least once or twice a month, Midway offers free shipping on orders over $100.

Natchez occasionally does $5 flat rate shipping for orders over $99.99.

You might want to look into factory second bullets from either Midway or Powder Valley. You can save a bundle going that route.
