The Surplus Arms and Ammo lower came in last weekend. Talked to Steve at SpreadfireArms and set up a time to meet.

Cudos for Steve for 1. being early 2. For being a nice guy. I'll be doing more business with him in the near future.

Caution.....This is what happens when you end up with a set of FGC springs, a hammer, and spare trigger guards. Oddly enough some parts were replaced with the new partial LPK.....

Lower looked good and Steve kept in boxed up until I was there to open it myself. The lower looks very good. My only complaint is the fish is a little thin compared to my RRA and STAG lowers. From the factory there were a few small spots that were bare metal (tiny spots) but that kind of thing doesn't bother me. I may eventually duracoat it or AlumahydeII it in FDE. The lower was in spec and the LPK went in with zero drama. I was supposed to wait until this weekend to put it together, but I couldn't wait.

I picked up a trigger from my brothers spare parts bin. Bought:
Used A1 stock with buffer tube, buffer, and spring.....$55 (shipped)
    Partial LPK from Brownells........$35 (shipped)
    Used MIAD grip.......$20 (shipped)
Surplus Arms and Ammo lower....$69 (shipped)
    Spreadfire arms FFL fee.......$10

So lower cost is = $189

When you get this built up let me know. I was wondering about that exact lower. I love discount parts. I take most of my ar's out to ranches.. we varmint all night.. Truck hunt... chase pigs.. the guns get used and beat up.. I have mostly spikes lowers but if something works and is cheap I am always willing to give it a try.

    Good build up!

These lowers are made by Aero Percision and I have read and heard that they also make the Spikes lowers. Granted the finish specs are different that Spikes, thus the $30 cheaper per lower.

I will more than likely throw my middy upper on it and shoot it this weekend. I'll let you know.
