Magnum Firearms in Baytown got smashed big time! The crooks smashed through the wall and did a "Smash & grab". This was a gigantic overkill! Check out the size of the hole!

The weird thing is that the store is located just down Main Street from the Baytown Police Station. It is also about one block from the expressway which gave a good escape route.

I got the link from Facebook ....check it out!

Jon Johnson owns the place and it is a frequent hangout for old farts like me who come to jabber about the world and its politics. Jon and Becky are real nice folks and they need some positive thoughts and prayers.

    where were you sir?

NO chance I was in it...snicker!....

Once upon a time I might have known who did this had it been in Chicago. Now that I got my life straightened out, I'm old and retired, I don't want to waste any of the time I have left wearing white and staring out through a cage!

I know you weren't Involved. . Just giving you a hard time. Buuuut being from da windy. And all.
I'm like you trying to run on the level.
But sometimes the criminal mind pops up. But this is TEXAS!!!! Don't go to prison here.
and to be over 50, Anything that they give you is a death sentence.

Ps I'm a old Kansas City knuckle head. Kc used to be a central mob headquarters. I started cooking at the age of 14. My first job was at a goodfella restaurant.
Then for the next few years all of my formal training was old school Italian. And some of da boys i drank with.

They were cool at a distance. But they were old school.
They didn't like the brothers. That's just the way it was
I respected them. They respected me. And taught me.
I cooked at 5 star restaurants for the next 6 years.
And most of these were owned by good fellas.
Didn't hear a lot but what i did hear was wild.
All that to say this. When I saw this my criminal mind took over.

I knew you were just raggin' on me......

I did some pondering on this crime. Having grown up with that type of people, I know how they think. Jon left his rifle inventory hanging on the walls that weren't smashed. He apparently didn't secure items in a safe at night. They smashed the only place where the guns weren't stored. It's pretty obvious that someone cased the store in advance. I'd start checking the video records from the recent past. Of course....I'll be there!

Then, too, the closeness of the expressway gave the thieves an easy getaway. In that picture, you can see the expressway in the background. There are lessons to be learned, here.

That's not the store I would expect to get hit in that area. Most of what they had were older bolt actions. But the wall they went through only had a display case full of scopes in front of it last time I was there, pistols were to the left and rifles and shot guns hung on the wall straight ahead and to the right. I would more expect Pig Supply to get hit again before I would have guessed Magnum would have been.

Magnum Firearms in Baytown had a smash & grab theft where a truck was run through the outside wall and all handguns were stolen. It was a mess that caused the family owned business to close for nearly a month. They are open now and would appreciate any help in tracing the stolen property!

Here are the types and serial numbers of the stolen firearms:
