Often the factory bolt knob on a bolt action rifle is good for the range and basic use. But often people want a larger bolt knob, as they allow better reliability, ability to extract tight cases, and faster shooting. You can buy metal ones, then cut off your old bolt knob, then thread the handle for the new one, maybe have to drill and add a rod for strength, and paint it (or pay a gunsmith to do it). With the MDT bolt knob, it has a clamshell and a cover. You just attach it to your existing bolt. They come in different colors and different poplar bolt action rifles. While I like the KSG bolt knobs best, the MDT is also a great option. Much easier and cheaper than cutting and fitting a permanent one, and if you don’t like it, you can just remove it or move it to a different rifle.
