Well read most of the thread what exacly is your quandary, its quite simple actually barrel shorter than 16 inches no but stock, a great example sig 556 pistol I own both of these and can say from personal knowledge if you want a 45acp to reach out and touch someone glock ccu combo is hard to beat, and as for pricey thats like trying to put a price on a mancave forget about it. As to the sig 556 pistol with a betamag need I say more.

I think the big issue is about rather you can carry the conversion kit in your backpack, remove the slid, put on the conversation, take your shot, then take off the conversion and put the pistol slide back on without the ATF saying you have gone in to the manufacturing biz and just made a short barrel rifle out of the carbine you made from your pistol in the first place.

I don't see the issue here...

The ATF got sued by Thompson Center and the Supreme Court ruled in favor of TC in regards to the creation of pistols from a rifle. The issue is ... the ATF holds that only TC pistols have this duality, and that everything else (such as a Glock) has to adhere to the rule of once a rifle, always a rifle.

Ergo, once you make a Glock into a rifle ... you cannot legally (according to the ATF) convert it into a pistol. As a result ... the possession of the shorter barrel would put you in breech of Constructive Possession, and be unlawful as a result.

Reason No. 8200252085279257835 that the ATF needs to go find something better to do.

I would think that they could never make it stick...but that never stopped them from making an ass of themselves before....
