Obama Risks a Domestic Military Intervention By: John L. Perry

There is a remote, although gaining, possibility America's military will intervene as a last resort to resolve the "Obama problem." Don't dismiss it as unrealistic.
America isn't the Third World. If a military coup does occur here it will be civilized. That it has never happened doesn't mean it wont. Describing what may be afoot is not to advocate it. So, view the following through military eyes:

    # Officers swear to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic." Unlike enlisted personnel, they do not swear to "obey the orders of the president of the United States."

    # Top military officers can see the Constitution they are sworn to defend being trampled as American institutions and enterprises are nationalized.

    # They can see that Americans are increasingly alarmed that this nation, under President Barack Obama, may not even be recognizable as America by the 2012 election, in which he will surely seek continuation in office.

    # They can see that the economy -- ravaged by deficits, taxes, unemployment, and impending inflation -- is financially reliant on foreign lender governments.

    # They can see this president waging undeclared war on the intelligence community, without whose rigorous and independent functions the armed services are rendered blind in an ever-more hostile world overseas and at home.

    # They can see the dismantling of defenses against missiles targeted at this nation by avowed enemies, even as America's troop strength is allowed to sag.

    # They can see the horror of major warfare erupting simultaneously in two, and possibly three, far-flung theaters before America can react in time.

    # They can see the nation's safety and their own military establishments and honor placed in jeopardy as never before.
So, if you are one of those observant military professionals, what do you do?
Wait until this president bungles into losing the war in Afghanistan, and Pakistan's arsenal of nuclear bombs falls into the hands of militant Islam?
Wait until Israel is forced to launch air strikes on Iran's nuclear-bomb plants, and the Middle East explodes, destabilizing or subjugating the Free World?

What happens if the generals Obama sent to win the Afghan war are told by this president (who now says, "I'm not interested in victory") that they will be denied troops they must have to win? Do they follow orders they cannot carry out, consistent with their oath of duty? Do they resign en masse?

Or do they soldier on, hoping the 2010 congressional elections will reverse the situation? Do they dare gamble the national survival on such political whims?

Anyone who imagines that those thoughts are not weighing heavily on the intellect and conscience of America's military leadership is lost in a fool's fog.

Will the day come when patriotic general and flag officers sit down with the president, or with those who control him, and work out the national equivalent of a "family intervention," with some form of limited, shared responsibility?

Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars. Having bonded with his twin teleprompters, the president would be detailed for ceremonial speech-making.

Military intervention is what Obama's exponentially accelerating agenda for "fundamental change" toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America. A coup is not an ideal option, but Obama's radical ideal is not acceptable or reversible.

Unthinkable? Then think up an alternative, non-violent solution to the Obama problem. Just don't shrug and say, "We can always worry about that later."

In the 2008 election, that was the wistful, self-indulgent, indifferent reliance on abnegation of personal responsibility that has sunk the nation into this morass.

It would be a sight to see. :patriot:

A more likely alternative would be a civil revolt. Think the Whiskey Rebellion of the 1800's. Not saying it couldn't happen, but the public at large will start shooting before the military even thinks about a coup de tete.

    Interesting theory...

Here's my take (for what it's worth),

A even more likely outcome than that would be some dipshit that's looking for his 15 minutes will very publicly call for armed revolution (which will not happen). This dipshit will be followed up by yet another dipshit from the other side (insert some generic lib-tard politician name here). Said dipshit will then get his 15 by somehow extrapolating a failed, armed revolution to the republican party.

Moral of story = None of this is good for us. Elections & sustained political preassure is much cheaper in the end...

Thank you, my rant is over...

I think you have the start there and that would be the trigger required for military intervention. Once the civil wheels were in motion the military now has reason to mount and assemble a force to carry out a coup.

A General in the US has very little ability to stage this sort of thing. It would have to be unilateral and the punishment would be treason. This is simply wishful thinking at best.

Just more talk ... that's all it is. They'd rather write chain-emails and feel good than actually get out there and fix anything. You wonder why the country is going to hell? Here's an example.

    I do agree 100%.

In regards to Texas1911, you also have a very valid point. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but just because were a current world superpower with a high standard of living doesn't exempt us from such a ruse. Were still a very young country, and it HAS happened in England, Russia, Germany, France etc. more times than I care to remember. Maybe it's not an apples to apples comparison, but you get my drift. We'll pull out of this slump soon, we just need to get Hitler out of office.

The thing is, we still have the ability to change our country without a military coup. The only reason we have a government that uses powers it was never given is because the vast majority of Americans allow it.

    They don't care.

We have only ourselves, as Americans, to blame for the mess we have. We are going to have to sleep in the bed we've made for ourselves.

Only a tiny minority of persons would even think about a acting a military option.

Yeah, it happened before ... it took people dieing in the streets in France to start a revolution to overthrow the monarchy, it took centuries of oppression and rape from the English lords and feudal system to cause rebellion and even the lords themselves rebelled against the crown, it happened in Germany after the worst economic disaster on German history where people burned their money for heat, it happened in Russia after the Czarist regime looked away from the people in the depths of a huge socioeconomic crisis.

People seem to forget history, and they are doomed to repeat it. The only thing that has remained constant is that people are pushed to the point where they have no choice. In America, we have choice, we just choose not to see it because we are preconditioned to extremes. No one is dieing in the streets, we still have far more rights than those before us, and WE still hold the power in this country.

If people spent 1 millionth of the time they spent bitching about their problems trying to fix them then they wouldn't have so many problems, and neither would this country. Protesting and petitions don't work. What does work is getting people into a ballot box and putting people in office that have a clue. It's fundamental, but too many people are content bitching and moaning about their side not winning and not getting every little thing that they want when they can be working to fix it.

For every 1 person that actually works to fix the problem there are 1,000 that are clueless zombies that ARE the problem, but until we work to fix the system it's our rights that are going to be trampled.

Too many people in this country are self-centric assholes that don't care until it affects their life. They are leftists, right-wingers, bible-beaters, liberals, tree huggers, hippies, and rednecks. Every single one of them has done something to degrade personal liberty in this country because they want to push THEIR agenda on someone else because of THEIR ideology. Guess what, Adolf Hitler did the same damn thing with National Socialism. He and his minions sought one core thing, to control the thought process of the people, and they did that with miraculous success. Think about it ... are most groups in the US not the same?

A revolution will not happen in this country because of these core reasons:

1.) They have food in their stomaches.
    2.) They have a voice.
3.) They are not killed in the streets.

Nearly every revolution fails at least one of those 3 criteria.

Like they say, anything is possible...

Here is my cut. The military (as a group) is thoroughly and completely imbdued with the concept of serving at the direction of civilian authority. Its almost in the DNA of our folks. For the military to consider some sort of action (I'll define action in a bit) the situation would have to be bad, like one swirl away from going down the toilet bad.

As far as action goes, there is such a breadth of scenarios available that they all can't be discussed or imagined. On one hand you could have the classic "troops leave the barracks" type of coup... not likely even in the worst of times. More likely, you would see a decision made by senior officers to "sit out" what they considered to be illegal or unconstitutional actions ordered by the fed.gov, an example of which might be armed action against a group of citizens or a suspension of rights and process for an "emergency". The "sit out" could be blatant, ie, "no, we're not doing that, find some other thugs" to "we're all over it..." and moving like molasses in the winter.

I think (I hope) that we will see some change begin from the 2010 elections. Hopefully we'll be able to start sending the worst of the rascals home (from both parties) and get some folks into our government that have at least a whit of common sense.

Remember what Tip O'Neill (Speaker of the House) said; "All politics is local". Start in your backyard and move up. Only vote for the candidates that clearly state what they are for and what they are against, vote for those you have confidence in (and agree with). Town Council, State Representatives, State Senators, Governor, Congresscritters and Senators!

As questionable as I think KBH is, she is a darn sight better than the two "Republicans" from Maine, Snow and Collins.

Right there is the core problem with this country - NO unity!

All I have to say is (waiting for the flaming to begin)

bho and is goon squad are good for this Nation

Now before you draw let me explain

"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." - Isoroku Yamamoto

"We the People" have been woken up and we are filled with a resolve the likes of which our Nation has not seen since Admiral Yamamoto spoke those words.

No let me put my tin foil hat back on...

I think there will be a coup, however I think there will be a major collapse of the economic system first, followed by food riots, and what a bunch of my LEO friends call welfare riots as the free money dries up.

Then there will be the coup, and that coup will be political, social, and economic.
It will be in the form of a complete removal of ALL current politicians and replacement with a new crowd of no named people. Then the FED will be dismantled down to its core components allowed by the constitution.

Ok tin foil hat back off...

    My friends,

The American people are stirring. As Obama and his socialist comrades continue to over-reach, the "stirring" will escalate. As I am sure most of you agree, as for ME, I support and will defend the Constitution to my utmost being, without any qualification or reservation whatsoever. But, we are a Republic, and our branches of government and the separation of powers will be invoked. What we are missing here is simply the US Supreme Court. Many of Obama's endeavors will not stand the scrutiny of the court in my opinion. For example, the tax on folks who would not procure healthcare will be challenged and defeated in the Supreme Court. What I think will occur will be a peaceful and civilized revolution at the ballot box come 2010, and then Obama will be "checkmated".

Let us give the US Supreme Court a chance. If that doesn't work, then I would say other options by the American People will be discussed and action taken. I recognize, as do many of you, that many people simply don't act like they care, but when pushed too far, it is amazing what can happen.

However, if for some reason, the US Supreme Court rules unconstitutional any or most of what Obama and the socialists attempt to do, and they (i.e., the socialists) attempt to execute in defiance of the Supreme Court, and therefore the Constitution, then we have a "whole new ballgame", and a coup could actually occur and in fact be justified!

In other words, "First things First". My faith in the American People and this Republic which I have defended with my sweat and blood still remains....at least at this point in time.
